WHO WINS THE EPL GOLDEN BOOT THIS SEASON?
With the recent show of goal scoring prowess in the current 2017/2018 season of the EPL, one would be forced to wonder who the Golden Boot winner of the season would be. The contest is fierce among so many contenders from different top clubs in the premier league.
It might be very early now to decide who wins the Golden Boot but it won’t be out of place to analyze the top goal scorers in the league so far as well as dwell on a brief discourse on their blistering form.
The front runners of the Golden Boot hitherto this 2017/2018 EPL season are; Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Morata, Harry Kane and Romelu Lukaku with 6 goals each to their names save Lukaku who has scored 7.
Romelu Lukaku

If any player has the most potential of winning the Golden Boot this season, that player is Romelu Lukaku. With his strong biting ability in the opponent’s 18 yard box, Lukaku has scored 7 goals in his 7 appearance with his new club Manchester United in the EPL. Recall that Romelu Lukaku joined The Red Devils during the summer transfer window from Everton and has proven his consistency in goal scoring by netting 7 in 7 for his new club. Jose Mourinho has repeatedly spoken about how delighted he is to have captured the Belgian International in the last transfer window and Lukaku himself has vowed not to soft pedal in finding the opponent’s net for his club.
Sergio Aguero
Manchester City FC
6 goals scored
78 mins per goal
467 mins played
The Manchester City goal scoring legend has continued his goal scoring tradition for the Citizens this season, showing he has not lost his steam in finding the back of the net. The Argentine professional has netted 6 goals in 467 minutes played this season with an average 78 minutes between each goal. Quite impressive! This qualifies Sergio Kun Aguero as a top flight contender for the EPL Golden Boot this season. Succeeding his accident last week, Kun will be away from the pitch for at least 2 month for the treatment of his broken ribs. We hope he recovers seamlessly (as he always does) so as to return to his scoring ways for the Citizens as the season further unfolds.
Alvaro Morata
Chelsea FC
6 goals scored
82 mins per goal
492 mins played
Alvaro Morata has given his critics a run for their money thus far this season. Following his recent summer move from Spanish giants Real Madrid to Chelsea, critics doubted his credibility and ability to replace Diego Costa in the central striking position for the Blues but he has shut their mouths so far with impressive shows of performance. He has found the net a whopping 6 times in 492 minutes played with an 82 minute average time between each goal. The blues will suffer the loss of the Spanish international after he developed a hamstring injury that will rule him out of the Chelsea playing side for at least 6 weeks. Goalisma wishes him a very quick recovery!!
Harry Kane
Tottenham
6 goals
104 mins per goal
621 mins played
Harry Edward Kane; the Golden Boot winner for the last two consecutive EPL seasons is yet again showing he won’t be pushed out of the Golden Boot contest this season as he has netted 6 goals in his 621 minutes of playing for his Spurs side this running season. The strong English international is not relenting in anyway and he is yet ready to continue scoring in his impressively blistering form. With the likes of the creative midfielder, Eriksen in the spurs team, we can bet that Kane would remain a top challenger of the Golden Boot for the 2017/2018 EPL season.
We will not fail to mention some other players that have been also impressive goal-scoring-wise and have got the potentials of rising up the goal scoring ranks this season. Raheem Sterling and Jamie Vardy, has scored 5 goals each in all their EPL appearances for their individual clubs while Gabriel Jesus, Mohamed Salah and Alexandre Lacazette has 4 goals each to further keep the Golden Boot race hot and fierce.
We can only but watch keenly to give you our objective thoughts as the 2017/2018 season unwraps. You can also share your thoughts with us on “WHO WINS THE EPL GOLDEN BOOT THIS SEASON?”
