WHO DESERVES THE BBC PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Here we bring you the nominees of the BBC African footballer of the year.

1) Sadio Mane
Country: Senegal
Club: Liverpool
Position: Midfield

Number one on the list is Liverpool player, Sadio Mane. The 25 year old Senegalese has been in top form this year helping his club to a fourth placed finish in the league last season and also helping his country qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He currently has 3 league goals in 6 appearances for his club. His contribution to Club and Country cannot be overemphasised. He's the key player for his
country, Senegal and also a very important part of the Liverpool team.


2) Victor Moses
Country: Nigeria
Club: Chelsea
Position: Midfield


The 26 year old Nigerian is the second on the list. The Chelsea midfielder. He played his own role in the qualification run of the Super Eagles for the World Cup. He has made 6 league appearances for the Blues this season.

3) Naby Keita
Country: Guinea
Club: RB Leipzig
Position: Midfield


The 22 year old RB Leipzig midfielder is in with a big shout to be named the BBC player of the year. Haven helped Leipzig to a second placed finish in the Bundesliga. The Guinea midfielder has agreed to join Liverpool by the end of this season. Making 8 league appearances this season he has scored one and assisted one for his club who currently sir second in the Bundesliga this campaign.


4) Pierre- Emerick Aubameyang
Country: Gabon
Club: Borussia Dortmund
Position: Forward


The prolific Gabon international is also in the listing. Though his Club did not have the best of seasons last season but still finished 3rd, he scored 31 times to win the highest goal scorer award in the Bundesliga.


5) Mohammed Salah
Country: Egypt
Club: Liverpool
Position: Forward



Salah: Egypt's hope and star. Gradually turning into one of Liverpool's most important players. He single handedly pulled his country to the world cup. Playing a great role in their qualification run. Mo Salah contributed 19 goals and 13 assist for Roma who finished 2nd in the Italian Serie A. The 25 year old has made 11 league appearances for his club side Liverpool this season scoring 7 times in the process. He's in with a big shout to be named the winner.

All the nominees are worth being in the discussion. Till the award ceremony proper, we keep our fingers crossed on who will eventually be the BBC AFRICAN FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR.
