See John Terry's instagram post to outgoing Diego Costa

Former Chelsea captain John Terry has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to striker Diego Costa, ahead of his return to Atletico Madrid.

Terry and Costa spent three successful seasons together at Stamford Bridge, racking up two Premier League titles and a League Cup crown between 2014 and 2017.
The Blues revealed on Thursday that they had reached an agreement with La Liga giants Atletico Madrid to send Costa back to the Spanish capital.
Terry and Costa were known to be close friends off the pitch, while their rugged, never-say-die stylings on the pitch would no doubt have created an air of mutual respect between Costa and Terry.
And Terry has today taken to Instagram to pay tribute to his former teammate as both a player and person, as well as wish the controversial Spanish striker all the best in his return to Atletico:
  • johnterry.26Good Luck @diego.costa in your next journey my friend ⚽️
An unbelievable player and one of the nicest and funniest guys I have met in football, playing against him in training and games was an absolute nightmare, one of the best and underrated players I have played with and against.
He gave everything for our club every time he wore a Chelsea shirt and was a born winner.
    Going to miss you mate
Good luck to you and your family
